We collect and process personal data that you provide in connection with your contact with Deweer Gallery such as your first and last name, gender, language, address, telephone number, e-mail address. This also includes all data that are necessary and/or useful that allow us to offer the requested articles and services to you (for example your interest in specific artists and your purchase history), so that we can provide you with a personalized service. Deweer Gallery undertakes to process only the data that are relevant and/or necessary for the purposes for which they were collected. For which purposes do we collect and process personal data?
The purposes for which we process data are of various nature and are set out below.

We collect personal data to fulfil the orders of our customers. Personal data are processed for the implementation of the agreements concluded with you. These processing operations are mainly based on the contractual relationship as a result of your order/purchase, but are also used for soliciting business (to inform you of interesting/new offers, or to inform you via our newsletter about our activities and exhibitions/events that our artists participate in), based on our legitimate interest to develop our business. If you do not want us to process your data for the purposes of soliciting business, it is sufficient to inform us.

We process these data for our suppliers in the context of our supplier strategy and on the basis of the contractual relationship that we maintain or develop with our suppliers.

As far as prospects are concerned, i.e. natural persons who are no clients of ours (yet), we process data for direct marketing purposes, based on our legitimate interest to conduct business. Prospects who are contacted by e-mail, are asked for express permission to be contacted in the future. Prospects contacted by letter are requested to check an opt-out clause if they do not want to be further contacted by us.

With regards to our employees, we process data for purposes such as personnel management and payroll administration.

We also process data for accounting and invoicing purposes. This involves identification data and invoice data.

This processing, firstly, forms part of our legitimate interest, in particular the ability to keep our administration up to date and obtain payment for the articles/services requested by you and is secondly legally required as part of our general bookkeeping duties.

Are the data shared with third parties?
Your data are mainly processed internally and will not be shared with third parties for commercial purposes. The information you provide will only be passed on to third parties if this is necessary for the execution of the agreement and the delivery of the services/articles you have requested. In such cases, your data may be shared with these third parties but only for the service concerned and always under our supervision.

In principle, your data will not be passed on to third countries or to international organizations.

Security of your personal data
Deweer Gallery has taken various security measures to keep your personal information safe, correct and up to date. In this way we make sure that only authorized persons have access to your data, that access to the data is protected and that our security measures are checked regularly.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We do not store your data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was received, unless we have to keep your personal data longer and/or have it available because of legal obligations.

Your customer file will in any case be kept no longer than 10 years after the last invoice.

Your rights
You have various rights that ensure that you are adequately protected.

You can always obtain confirmation on whether we process personal data on you and send us a request free of charge to view, change or delete this data. To this end, it is sufficient to send a request via info@deweergallery.com. Before complying with your request, we may ask you to provide proof of identity to prevent your data from being communicated to someone who is not entitled to it.

You have the right to request that we remove your personal data. You may also withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data (provided that this processing is based on your consent). You may also oppose the use of your data for direct marketing purposes at any time. You are not obliged to motivate said opposition.

If you do not agree with the way in which we process your data, you can file a complaint with the Commission for the Protection of Privacy, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels. They can also be contacted for all general questions regarding the processing and protection of personal data.
