In the last few years Deweer Art Gallery exhibited Jan Fabre and Ilya Kabakov more than once. Deweer Art Gallery hosted Jan Fabre already in 1985. Ilya Kabakov was welcome in Otegem for the first time in 1992. In this exhibition a successful co-operation between two of the most wayward artists of the gallery has been provoked. The exhibition “Een Ontmoeting/Vstrecha” A Meeting Jan FAbre & Ilya Kabkov is made, from a formal point of view, out of drawings and sculptures made respectively by Jan Fabre and Ilya Kabakov and a central, common set. With respect to the contents, the exhibition stands in all its elements by the theme of a meeting between a fly and a beetle.
