In addition to the current Homo Faber event in Antwerp, Deweer Art Gallery presents an exhibition with a selection of historical works from the gallery's collection and stock, curated by the artist himself. This exhibition is a must for those who wish to rediscover Fabre through his works from the early years. Based on the recurrent themes of the landscape and the turtle, Fabre designed a show that contains bic-works, drawings, photographs and sculptural works that are completely or relatively unknown, even to a specialised public. Some of the works were shown in Jan Fabre's first groupshow at Deweer Art Gallery in 1985, Ouverture, and in his first solo show there in 1988, Jan Fabre - Modellen. The historical diptych The Medium - The Model was even made in the gallery.
