"Say it with flowers" is presented in Deweer Gallery's Blackbox and consists of a screening of Matthew Lutz-Kinoy's video "Vaseline"from 2010, together with the presentation of a monotype work and a mattress by Ola Vasiljeva . This presentation marks the exhibition premiere of "Vaseline", the title lifted from the eponymous theatre play by Gertrude Stein, who is also featured in the video in the form of an historic audio recording. "Vaseline" is the documentation of an esoteric dance-turned-house-tour or late-night dwelling in a home that is attached to a man-made cave. Reflecting on various works of the avant-garde, high Modernism and the Beat movement, the viewer is guided late at night through a residence in the French countryside. As the dancers begin their path through the night, we travel into the past and the future. We slip through various poignant moments in history, where collective creative actions and artistic sharing turn into movements and representations of a moment. The title is taken from a well-known anecdote in Genet's biography when the police confiscate his personal lubricant.
